Our priorities

Good health and wellbeing are our most valuable assets as they enable us to live happy, fulfilling lives, and to reach our full potential. They also play a crucial role in fostering a strong society, allowing us to fully engage in family life, establish social connections, work productively, and actively contribute to our communities.

Our Strategic Plan 2024-2029: Creating a healthier WA together is our five-year strategic vision for a healthier and more active Western Australia.

Our funding is prioritised to the below health areas that will support children and young people, particularly children in their early years, as well as:

  • Aboriginal people and communities
  • People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • People living in regional areas
  • People experiencing disadvantage
  • LGBTQIA+ community

Our priority health areas:

Our approach

  • Work with people in the community with the greatest health needs
  • Support evidence-based initiatives to deliver positive health outcomes
  • Fund practical research to foster public health innovation
  • Evaluate health promotion initiatives
  • Partner with others to address the underlying causes of health problems
  • Support the WA Government’s health promotion agenda.
